my root system has grown so
deep and intricate in this fertile soil
enriched with suffering and tears
and the empathy of others
all i know to do now
is to keep growing
and producing fruit
i never knew i could bear
these crisp fruits of love
big green peace leaves
joyful orange blossoms bursting forth and
patient, kind, petite pink blooms
content to be hidden at first glance
my trunk becoming goodness
